mini pies

when I was growing up my family would go to church every Sunday and then go to my grandparent's house for dinner (calling it dinner even though it was at lunch time). my grandma always made a dessert from scratch and usually it was one or two of her famous pies. she would make peach pie, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, lemon pie, boston cream pie, and the list goes on! I have never made a pie, but getting this new invention from Williams Sonoma might inspire me to:

Bridal Shower Cupcakes

These are the cupcakes I made for my cousin's bridal shower last Saturday - they were a hit! I picked up the fresh strawberries from the local fruit stand the day before and then frosted and decorated them the morning of. The frosting color matched the shower colors perfectly!

Cupcake Research

I've been commissioned to make cupcakes for my cousin's upcoming bridal shower in a couple weeks. Weheartit.com helped me do a bit of research in thinking of cute ideas on what kind of cupcakes to make.
Crumbled chocolate would be a yummy topping for the cupcakes!
I love the idea of putting fresh fruit on cupcakes.
Especially when the berries look like hearts.

Hmm... soooo much inspiration... can't wait to blog about what kind of cupcakes I decide to make for the bridal shower!
